SBA 8(a) Program Certification

The Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program was designed to provide business development assistance to companies owned and managed by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. In order to be certified by the SBA, an applicant firm must: be a small business; be unconditionally owned and controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who are of good character; be citizens of the United States; and must demonstrate potential for success.
